I read Alice In Wonderland yesterday. You can tell Old Charlie was on some heavy drug when he wrote that! Weird book. But that's two more books checked off my Books To Be Read Before I Die list.

Yay! Our Library looks real purty cause we got our Chrissy tree up!

How about that. Blogger just took so long to connect that I've forgotten what I was going to say.

A big thanks to everyone who wished me a happy Birthday the other day, especially my little mate at Civic, and my other mate at Dickson. Awww I feel all warm now........oops thats why. I just spilled coffee in my lap........

Centre me on the real world Gooshie!

Happy Birthday to Billy Connolly (and me)

I have to admit that my prediction was wrong. The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre is not to bad. It's not a classic (yet) but it is worth watching. Henkel and Hooper were producers so they must have thrown a bit of weight around to make it a fairly decent film.

By the way, the pig has returned to Civic.

Sunday, November 23, 2003

I'm 28 tomorrow! So tonight I'm going to go out and treat myself to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3rd(and a half) version. (Massacre was made in 1973, Leatherface:Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 was a slight remake, based on the same characters. Texas Chainsaw: The Next Generation starred Jean Luc Picard (sorry it was Matthew McConaughey. (really!!!)) and now we have the new (get to know the inner personality of leatherface) version.

I predict I'll be really disapointed, especially if there is no Chop-Top in it.
Thatsh it im never drinking again..................

Like I can really quit, but I need to cut down. I'm drinking more and more since I joined this Library. Damn Melbourne Cup Day. That's what got me going again. Used to be I'd only drink once per fortnight, now the bar staff at the Tray-Dees know my drink before I order it. (Except one guy at Woe-Den Tray-Dees who thinks I'm Jimeoins father and only drink "two VB", when I really want "Two Schoo-nars ov Too-hees Noo"
(For those who don't get it: Listen to Jimeoin's Goin' Off album, available for about $8.50

Look at that there! $8.50..............Bargain!)

A Warning (for Megsie)

Readers be advised that Y2Dave's blog contains:

Violence , Rude words and Adult Situations

(You gotta be F**king me, this F**king blog has none of that sort of crap)

Friday, November 21, 2003

Yesterday was the day of the big drinks. Big drinks continued until about 1am at the Tray-Dees. And was Ken there? "Nup nup. nupnupnup!" My brain is frazzled, I only had a couple of hours sleep last night. I wish I was a PO here, then I could sleep in my office.

And the Panda is back on the drinkin' trail! (And the hoofin' trail as well).

Silly singer at the Tray-Dees didn't sing Blue Moon Of Kentucky. And she calls herself an entertainer?

Quote Of The Day
"It ain't a party without Blue Moon Of Kentucky and Yakkity Sax" - Y2Dave

The bus drove past the local cinema today and I noticed that the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre film is out. I'm curious, but if I see it I know I'll be disappointed. There hasn't been a good TCM film except the ones directed by Tobe Hooper. Why are so many remakes being made? There hasn't been many good remakes ever, except for Bogart's Maltese Falcon.

Y2Dave (waiting for the remake of Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines)

PS My signoff gag above was going to be (Y2Dave- waiting for the remake of It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World, until I remembered that was remade as Rat Race)

I've started watching old Quantum Leap episodes lately. What a great show, even thought the last episode explained nothing!.

Oh Boy!

I needed something to read last night so I grabbed a book at Woden about the Dead Sea Scrolls. Really interesting stuff. Apparantly Jesus's miracles were early conjuring tricks all done with mirrors and trapdoors. One of the scrolls has a chapter that was left out of the New Testament. Here it is:

And Lo, Sabrina brought forth the volunteer from the audience,
And the Lord said, "Be this your watch?"
Yes it is", replied the Samaritan, and the people did gnash their teeth in amazement.
"Be this you wallet?" "Yes" and the capacity lunchtime crowd did Oooh and Ahh, for 'twas indeed a miracle.

Soon followed much juggling and escaping from handcuffs,
and sawing in half of those who had definitely never met the Lord before.
Until the Only Begotten Son proclaimed... Now draweth I, the lucky door prize.
And in a flash was he gone. (Returning only on Tuesday for a 2 O'Clock matinee)

Hmm. When I try to check Panda and DDD's livejournals from the Dick Smith Powerhouse terminals, I can't access them. They get blocked by netNanny. Hmm What do you have on your sites guys???

I gotta go for my medical this afternoon. I've got no idea how long it takes, so I've been left off the roster today. YAY!!!!!! (I hope it takes a while, then I can just walk home instead of having to come all the way back here). I had to fill in the questionaire, and it turns out I've had nothing wrong. I feel so healthy and boring.

storytime is VERY LOUD!

and people in wheelchairs should not throw stones.

F**king disabled idiot....
I've had two days off cause I caught the supervirus thats attacking Library staff this month. And my back hurts.

Ow.

Cherio to Greg of Open Stacks (http://openstacks.lishost.com/os/) The mysterious, shadowy figure who listed this page as a Library page all that time ago. I'm not sure this page is really worth listing though...... I'll have to read open Stacks when I get a chance, when I'm not taking so many drugs for my back.

An Official Apology
I didn't realise you Civicians took the Piggy so seriously. I apologize. Sorry for snaffling the Piggy.

However, we still want the monkey back......

Saturday, November 08, 2003

Apparently there has been some fallout over Operation: Piggy Liberation
It seems some Civic staff are up in arms about their missing lump of bacon . I ask them to remember what we learned in High School Mathematics:

One Piggy = One Monkey

Besides, Piggy looks so cute in his new hat.......

Y2Dave (member of the PLO (Piggy Liberation Operatives))
Civic no longer have the piggy!

Yay Of The Day
Yay Of The Day goes to the Phantom, who brought back my piggy! There is justice in this world.

I got the new Sunday roster yesterday. Thank God I'm not working every Sunday again. Though, the money is nice.... I might be able to get a weekend now and then.

Lyric Of The Day

Todays Yay Of The Day
Yay of the Day goes to Droopy, who came 3rd in her swimming race at The masters Games, Yay Droopy! (By the way thanks for the scenic drive back to Civic yesterday)

Not much to say at the moment, so I'm gonna grab a coffee and try to think up a Quote Of The Day.

Had a little victory yesterday. I was able to clear a heap of stuff off the CD problem shelves here. All these discs that were missing cases and vice versa. Turns out most of the cases were on the shelf next to the discs! I love this service.......

Quote Of The Day
" I've got more flex than Plastic-Man!" Y2Dave (able to work comic references into everything)
Can't believe I've already racked up over 1hour 10mins in flex time. Pity I can't rack up enough flex to take a fortnight off......

Y2Dave (Working for the Man, whoa whoa whoa whoa)

Just been checking it out. UC dont offer my course no more. F**k it! Maybe I'll just do Cert II and III here, then continue with Cert IV at CIT.

Cheers to the lovely (and unnamed) staff member for all the nice comments today! You get The Yay For The Day
Jeers to the old bat at the internet terminal, I hope you remember that you are going to die soon then you won't be able to verbally abuse me......

Mmmmm Quiche........ yahhhhhghhhhhggggghhhhh!
Gonna start getting all my stuff together so I can try to get back into Uni. Maybe this time I will be accepted back, and at least now I've got enough work to live on (barely), so I'll be able to stay this time. Knowing my luck I'll have to pay everything up-front. F**k!

Tried to mail Jussie but her hotmail has been cut off (Ohh Matron!).

And Mum's horse didn't win either.
I've got Joy by the Newsboys going through my head. How positive yet scary!
I really need a drink.

Dave didn't get any winning in the Melbourne Cup. Hence Dave is back at work. Ken won (actually backed the winner) so he'll have to shout us drinks tonight.

I'm giving up gambling.
